In this illusion custom-made for the Science Center and introduced by magicians Penn & Teller, see a human head kept alive in an unusual science lab.

In a video presentation front stage, Penn shows how Teller literally lost his head in a car accident. Penn describes how, through the wonders of modern medical science, we've been able to keep Teller's head alive for all to see. As Penn finishes his story, he pulls away a cloth to reveal Teller's living, disembodied head!

While this illusion looks simple, several complex processes operate hidden behind the scenes. Visitors can explore the mystery backstage and even have a chance to lose their own heads. Discover the rich history of disembodied head illusions, the principle of perspective, the science of reflected light, and the art of performance that brings it all together. But going backstage won't reveal everything...
